So, you all should know by now that I'm a really big geek. Especially when it comes to comic books and rpgs*.
I am wickedly addicted to Dark Age of Camelot, and this is my little space to gush about my character and generally devolve into massive dorkiness.
Dark Age of Camelot takes place in three realms: Albion, which is based on British folklore; Midgard, which is based on Norse folklore; and Hibernia, which is based on Celtic folklore.
Being that I'm a big fan of Celtic/Irish culture/music/lore/etc., I made my home in Hibernia.
My first character's name is Deseriot OceanStone (her friends call her Dessie). She is a Champion, which means that she is mostly a warrior, but she does have some combat-related magical abilities - she can use spells to pull* and also to debuff*.
Now, Dessie was my learner character. She was the very first character I rolled when I first started the game and had no idea what I was doing.
Once I'd played her for a while, and I had a good feel for the game, I wanted to start a new character, one who used what I had learned and who would be a bit stronger
in her abilities. Now, that doesn't mean I don't love Dessie or that I don't want to play her anymore - she's just no longer my main*.
I've actually got several alts* now, who might make their way into this page over time and as they have more adventures,
but most of my adventures now are with my main, Mairre.
All of my characters are members of the guild* Luna Argentum (for more detailed guild statistics, you can visit the Luna Argentum Page of the Camelot Herald Database),
of which Mairre is an officer. The symbol that you'll see on Dessie's shield and Mairre's cloak is the emblem that represents the guild.
I'm trying to make this site friendly to those who aren't familliar with the game, or even with rpg's in general, thus the glossary down at the bottom. Any word marked with an asterisk (*) is defined (according to Jess) in the glossary section below.
If you see any terms used here that you feel should be included in the glossary, or feel that anything else warrents further explanation, please let me know.
Mairre's Adventures
Mairre
Mairre Wielding Her Mondo Sword Of Doom
Mairre Vs The Rat - This was an adventure Mairre had when she was young (level 13). Her group was hunting when they were attacked, first by some rather viscious trees, then by ... The Giant Rat. If you're wondering where Mairre is in this picture, look under the rat's hind leg, and you can see her corpse.
A Guild Hunt In Treibh - Mairre and some Lunas (and a few other friends) take a group shot after a successful hunt in the dungeon called Treibh Caillte.
Mairre's First Dragon Raid - There is one Dragon in Hibernia - a wicked, terrible creature, and here a large group of characters (most of whom were very high level - Mairre was level 38 at the time, and one of the youngest there) decided to go on a crusade to eliminate the Dragon and its threat to Hiberia!
You can easily see how much success we had by looking at this screenshot.

Des's Tragic Death At The Hands of Bran The Giant!
Ren's New Pet - Renak is the leader of Luna Argentum, and one evening when he came to visit me, he found a new pet.. Mighty the Mite! Ren and Mighty quickly became best of friends, until, tragically, Mighty came down with Rabies and had to be put down...
The Big Tree - I was fighting with a small band of warriors and we found... a tree...
Lateter that night, with the same group, we encountered an even more Frightening Beast...
Des At Level 20 - Here's Des right after hitting level 20, getting outfitted with new armor, and finally - finally! - being allowed to wear the Luna Argentum emblem upon her shield (the guild emblems must be earned - players under level 20 cannot wear one) - a proud day!
Des Watches A Sunset
Des & Lili - This is a shot of me & Caelili, my beloved guild sister! We were on the way to Thidranki... more of that adventure in the next shot. :)
Des.. um...dead! - This shot is from my first trip to Thidranki, which is a special RvR* battleground for players of level 20-25. Being only level 20 at the time, I was at the low end of the food chain there... and look how it turned out! I soon got rezzed*, though, and was on my merry way... at least, until I died again!

Guild Hunt! - This shot is from my first-ever guild RvR trip! I think Des was level 11 in this picture. You can see her over 3rd from the left, looking much less dapper than she does now. This picture was taken by Adeimantus, a high level member of Luna Argentum (and all around spiffy guy).

Two Horses - An odd graphical glitch that sometimes happens when two horses stand very near to each other in the game...
*Glossary Of Game Terms
alt - Short for alternate - an alt is a character other than your main.
debuff - This means to use spells to lower an enemy's crucial statistics - such as its strength, dexterity, or attack speed - thus rendering it slower, weaker, etc., and making it easier to defeat.
guild - A guild is an organized group of players, sort of like a club. A guild can chat together, using the guild chat feature, even if all the members are in different places in the game. Guilds often go on hunting trips together, have events, and help each other with quests and fights. My guild has a very friendly, close-knit atmosphere; I always enjoy spending time with the Lunas.
main - Your "main character," the one that you play the most often and put the most resources into.
pull - This means to somehow get an enemy's attention from afar, usually by damaging it through the use of either spells or arrows, thus causing it to come running toward you. This is a good way to avoid having to rush into a potentially dangerous area in order to fight a monster.
rezzed - Resurrected - brought back to life by another player who posesses powers of healing.
rpg - Roleplaying game
RvR - Realm vs. Realm - the three realms (Albion, Midgard, Hibernia) are constantly at war with each other. There are lands in between the realms, called frontiers, where the guilds battle for control of fortresses, keeps and relics. My guild gets together regularly for group RvR hunts where we go into the frontiers and fight players from the other realms. Currently, Deseriot is way too low level to be able to actually do any good in the frontier, but it's still a lot of fun to go out with the group!
