Q. What's up with the new redesign? Where's all the old stuff?
A. I've been giving a lot of thought to this redesign. Over time, this website had become almost a burden to me - it was so huge, so weighty, so serious half the time, so deeply personal ... I didn't know
where to go with it, and I dreaded change because of the amount of work it would take to update all those files. Also, as time has gone on, I've become less and less interested in the idea that anyone with web access
could find out so much about me personally and my life. Perhaps I'm learning to value my privacy more. But ... I still wanted to have a website. I said I'd never abandon jessworks.org, and I mean it - even though it may
go through many changes, I don't plan on it ever disappearing. So, what I've decided is this: the new motto of this website, as stated on the title page, is "Saving The Angst For The Slash." This page is going to be FUN.
Now, when I say it's going to be FUN, what I really mean is, FUN for ME. If you have fun here, that's pretty spiffy too, but this site is for ME. ME ME ME MUA HA HA! So, what *I* want to do is to create a site where I can
geek out about whatever crazy fangirl stuff I'm into, and not have to deal with anything serious. No more poetry, no more journaling, no more ranting about *issues*. From now on, I keep my poetry to myself (and those close to me),
I write journal entries in an actual, physical journal that no one reads but me, and I save the *issues* for rant sessions with friends over coffee.
Q. So what's going to be on this site, then?
A. So far I've really only got the DAoC section going, which, yes, I had going before, so sue me, I finally got around to a redesign, I haven't actually got any new pages up. And I don't know for *sure* what all I want
to do pages about here, though some possibilities are Slash, Harry Potter (though those first two might be best dealt with together on one page), Buffy, Comic Books, The Dark Tower series ... the possibilities are endless, and endlessly geeky.
But who knows. We'll see where my whims take me.
Q. You sure are sounding unstructured and lackadaisical about all this.
A. Yep. I sure am.
